At Modern Mama Lactation, we are passionate about supporting families in their breastfeeding and infant feeding journey. We understand that this journey is unique, and that families can be faced with challenges that require personalized care and guidance to help successfully achieve their individual infant feeding goals. We are committed to creating a safe and comfortable space for families. We believe that every family deserves access to quality lactation support and education, which is why we offer a range of services including prenatal breastfeeding classes, private in-home consultations, and phone consults. Our goal is to empower you with the knowledge and confidence to make informed decisions about your baby's health and well-being.
ABOUT ME
Shayla lives in Kamloops with her partner, toddler and two bonus daughters.
Shayla has a passion for supporting families in their labour and birth journey, into postpartum and infancy through to childhood. Since having her daughter she has recognized there is a need for education and support for families in their breastfeeding and infant feeding journeys. This kindled her interest for improving prenatal education specifically surrounding lactation and breastfeeding care and support for families facing challenges with breastfeeding, chest feeding, lactation or infant feeding.
Shayla received her BScN in 2018, and since then has pursued a career following her passion for maternal and child health. She received her IBCLC certification in 2023 and is now servicing her community with her private practice and prenatal education.
As a lactation consultant Shayla provides comprehensive and individualized care to each family she works with. From feeding plans, to personalized follow up, individualized flexible schedules and more.
